Pretty Summer Look

When the days begin to lengthen, your spirit begins to sing with the promise of lazy days by the pool and cookouts with friends. As your activities move outdoors, you want to achieve a pretty summer look without spending too much time in front of the mirror.

Contrast neutral basics, like a khaki skirt with bright sherbet tones. You can wear a bright pink top or lime green sandals with neutral colors to celebrate summer's cheerful hues without looking clownish.

Opt for a crisp monochromatic summer look by wearing white from head to toe. Select white with blue cast to it, as white clothing with a beige cast can look dingy.

Over cold weather colors like brown and black forward in breezy fabrics. Linen is a classic summer fabric, and you can pair wide leg linen pants in dark colors with a tank top for a relaxed summer look.

Put your flat iron away, as loose waves and curls rule during the summer months. That doesn't mean that you ought to lose all control of your hair and permit frizzy tendrils to stick out everywhere; apply a dollop of styling cream before you hit the pool.

Visit your stylist for subtle highlights that complement your natural skin and hair color. Your stylist should use up to two highlighting colors to duplicate the effect of the sun and surf on your hair at summer's finish.

Trade your regular powder or liquid foundation for a tinted sunscreen formula (see Resources). If a tinted sunscreen doesn't cover your complexion's flaws, dot on some concealer where needed.

Think about semi-permanent eyelash extensions, and say goodbye to raccoon eyes for the entire summer. An aesthetician applies these lashes to each of your natural lashes with medical grade adhesive, where they remain in place until your natural eyelash falls out.
